Project Description
The IMC and our electrical design team SELAH Group, Inc. provided a turnkey substation replacement and medium voltage distribution upgrade solution complete with advanced state of the art Schweitzer Engineering Laboratory/SEL-based protective relays, SEL-based SCADA controls, and fiber optic-based communication networks, in compliance with NAVFAC’s RFP technical requirements. Power Plant No. 3 substation replacement system design is similarly to the extent practical, with the new Taurman Ave Substation and Villamar Substation, also completed by the IMC/SELAH at the US. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

“The contractor’s (IMC) management was able to assist the Government in finding no/low cost solutions to project issues. Their management also allowed for extreme flexibility in meeting the Government’s needs relating to commissioning of Government owned equipment. Their flexibility allowed for the MUSE team (Government generator commissioning authority, not this contract) to successfully commission their generators and equipment very quickly. They also were able to stop and restart work on very short notice, allowing the contract to finish ahead of schedule.”
